Gaza an Ägypten? Gaza to Egypt?

Ägypten macht die Grenze zum Gazastreifen wieder dicht. Ich frage mich, wo der internationale Aufschrei der Entrüstung bleibt, der Israel trifft, wenn es dasselbe tut? Wieso ruft niemand “Blockade pfui!”, verlangt niemand von Ägypten, den Gazastreifen mit Strom, Lebensmittel, Medikamenten zu versorgen? Die Ägypter selbst haben verständlicherweise kein Interesse, den Gazastreifen zugeschanzt zu bekommen. Dennoch bleibt darüber nachzudenken, ob eine Rückkehr des Gazastreifens zu Ägypten eine Lösung sein kann, wie dies Daniel Pipes in der Jerusalem Post tut. Schließlich war das Gebiet bis 1967 unter ägyptischer Verwaltung.

Egypt has started to finally seal the Gaza border. This time, of course, there is no international outcry condemning the closure of a border. Storms of protest are exclusively reserved for Israel when it is doing the same. Why does the international community not demand from Egypt to supply the Gaza strip with electricity, food, drugs? Gaza was Egyptian territory until 1967 - does Egypt still have a sort of responsibility for it? Anyway, the Egyptians would not take back Gaza voluntarily.
